COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley is the Black Coaches and Administrators' female coach of the year.
The organization announced the honor Tuesday.
Staley led the Gamecocks to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2003. They advanced to the round of 16 before falling to Stanford.
South Carolina was 25-10 and went 10-6 in the Southeastern Conference. The Gamecocks defeated six top-25 teams during the season, including their first-ever victory in Knoxville against Tennessee that also broke a 40-game losing streak to the Lady Vols.
Staley is 67-58 in her four seasons at South Carolina.
