Family Home and Life: Fun With a Magnet

Here?s a fun activity I found on Pinterest for the kids; or for you :) ?I remember playing with magnets when I was a kid and had a lot of fun with them.?

  • Start with chenille stems, or pipe cleaners (depending on what generation you are from)?
  • A clear plastic lidded jar (a smooth surface works best here)
  • A magnet?
  • Scissors or other cutting tool for the chenille stems.

All you need to do is simple cut the chenille stems into desired lengths, mine are about 1 1/2 inches long, and drop them into the jar.?

Place the lid on and pull the magnet around the outside of the jar to pull the pieces around inside.?
The cut pieces will follow the magnet around and form cool patterns. A word of caution: magnets can?destroy?your computer. Keep the magnets away from it!

Are you from generation 'pipe cleaners'? Or generation 'chenille stems'? I'm?definitely?a 'pipe cleaner' generation!
