Unscrupulous and sometimes downright criminal Claims Management Companies (CMCs) are giving our industry a bad name. I have blogged before about shocking recent com/2012/05/08/are-claims-companies-taking-the-ppi/">research from MoneySavingExpert.com and Which? which found that a quarter of people making refund Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) claims did not know that their Claims Management Company would take a fee.

Another recent blog also pointed out how the banks are trying to discredit CMCs in an effort to detract from their own short-comings in the mis-selling of PPI scandal.

And to add insult to injury, a scam is being operated by PPI fraudsters ? with the latest example in rural Sterlingshire, where crooks are asking for up front payments to make claims and then pocketing the cash without doing anything.
